With 30 pieces in one pack, it covers the entrance, balcony, puja room and windows in one order, and at about Rs. 10 per diya it is good value for a full home. The AtoZzone clay diya is made out of natural mud and comes as a pack of 20 earthenware diyas. This is the classic Diwali diya – the simple, traditional mitti diya used for Lakshmi Puja, for lining the entrance and for the rangoli. At Rs. 91 for 20 pieces, it is the cheapest deal in this list at under Rs. 5 per diya. Use it with oil and a cotton wick, on a stable surface, and keep it away from curtains and children. It is the best choice if you want the traditional look and feel of Diwali on a small budget.

The ROYALTRADERS Brass Akhand Jyot Diya is a brass table diya with a glass cover, in a golden brass finish with a swastik design on the dome. It is made for akhand jyot – a long-burning lamp for the puja room – and the glass cover keeps the flame steady in a breeze. It has 1 wick, comes with 1 glass cover, 1 brass bowl and 1 brass dome cover, and is suitable for daily worship as well as Diwali. With 4,216 ratings, it is the most-reviewed product in this list. The TIED RIBBONS Matki Wax Candle Clay Diya Set is a pack of 12 terracotta matki diyas filled with wax, in red, blue and green, for home decoration and the puja room. Because the wax is already filled, there is no oil to pour and no wick to set – just light them and place them around the entrance, on the dining table or with the rangoli. Please note the delivery date: Flipkart showed delivery by 17 November for this set, later than the other three products, so check your pincode before ordering if you need it for Diwali.
How to Choose the Right Diya
- For safety indoors: Choose the LED water-sensor diya. It has no flame, no smoke and no hot oil.
- For the traditional puja: Choose the natural mud clay diya. It is the classic mitti diya for Lakshmi Puja and the entrance.
- For a diya that lasts for years: Choose the brass akhand jyot diya. It is reusable, with a glass cover to protect the flame.
- For ready-to-light decoration: Choose the wax candle matki diya set. It needs no oil or wick.
- Check the pack size: Count how many diyas you need for the entrance, balcony, puja room and rangoli before you order – a pack of 30 LED diyas or 20 clay diyas covers a whole home, while a single brass diya suits the puja room.
- Always check delivery by pincode: Delivery dates change by pincode, and the dates we saw today are after Diwali for most pincodes.
